Why Now?
Three quarters of the population claim to be Christian in the 2001 census, and whilst this varies from region to region, rising to its highest in Welsh speaking heartlands of Anglesey, and lowest in Cardiff and Newport, this should be very encouraging to us as a political party. However, we are not naïve enough to think this is going to be an easy thing to achieve. Wales is a beautiful country with an abundance of natural resources, stunning landscapes and beaches, and cities growing and attracting heavy investments. Yet, when we look at the statistics of Wales, we see a very different picture. There are unacceptable levels of illness, poverty, farming crises, abortion, divorces, social problems, depression, crime, suicide, loneliness, homelessness, child abuse and neglect and hopelessness. We have a nation it seems that is merely surviving – not thriving.Furthermore, 92.3% of Wales’ children have no church backgrounds whatsoever. So if the majority of the population claim to be Christian, why are our children not being taught? The population want to believe in the Christian values because they know they are right, but we see every other party compromise on what is right. Not one political party is saying to the people of Wales – here’s the truth – now you decide who you will vote for. We are looking to be that voice once more in politics. God is raising up His people to courageously speak the truth, for as you know ‘ The truth will set us free’ |
