Our Policies - Social Justice
‘The majority should protect the minority, but the minority should not dictate to the majority.’
We believe:
- SORs discriminate – we want exemption
SORs discriminate against the rights of individual conscience and an unprecedented and ominous imposition of immorality by the state on the people. That any individual or organisation must be allowed an exemption from the SORs on the basis that the regulations would compel actions contrary to individual conscience and/or teachings of their faith.
- Right to defend our faith
In our right to defend and affirm publicly the good news of salvation, love and everlasting life in Jesus Christ
- No right to give offence
We do not have the right to give offence. The criminalisation of a person for someone’s subjective taking offence is unworkable (subjective is based on emotion and prejudice)
- Freedom of conscience (firefighters)
In the right to freedom of conscience for employees in relation to non-core duties and extra-curricular activities
- Diversity training include bible teachings
That diversity training should include the biblical perspective on faith, morality, marriage and sexuality. It ought to be about learning to live peaceably and tolerance with other people’s world views and diverse lifestyles
- Widen definition of civil partnership
In widening the scope of civil partnerships to include all people have committed to live together as a single household
