Family LifeOur Policies - Family Life

‘Your Children, Your Responsibility !  Ask not what your country can do for your children, but what you can do for you children.’

We believe:

  • Family is building block
Christian love within the family unit is the building block of the Church, the Nation and Society.
  • Support for mothers at home
We believe in a tax and benefit system that recognises that children brought up by a mother at home, with preferably a working father, have the best life chances
  • Discipline key responsibility
Parents expected to exercise “loving” discipline, along with meeting all needs of provision for their children. The denial to use reasonable chastisement, is a form of child abuse, as it denies the child fundamental right to effective parenting. Restore the right for parents to smack their children as a measure of “reasonable” chastisement.
  • Increased resources for families early on
We propose to support the need of Christian values and good parent preventative services. We support increased resources provided at an early stage, to prevent breakdown of family relationships and referrals to care. Parenting classes should be freely available.
  • State take your hands off our children
We believe that political correctness is encroaching on state education and even domestic teaching of children. The State is not responsible for world views and moral values but parents/parental responsibility accountable for religious and moral teaching.
  • Adoption – heterosexual dual sex family
We believe that it is in the best interest of a child to be placed for adoption with a heterosexual, dual-sex family, rather than with a homosexual same-sex couple or homosexual single person.
  • Reinforce parental rights and responsibilities
  • Promote parental rights regarding the medical treatment of children under 16 years of age particularly relating to contraceptive services and abortion.
