?Our Nation

According to the 2001 Census, over 70% of the Welsh electorate stated that they hold Christian beliefs. Many attend places of worship. People still believe in the traditional values of a Christian society but we are seeing a constant erosion of God’s laws in our society. Local & County Council Elections, 2012

The Christian Party (Wales) are looking for candidates for the 2012 local and county council elections. With 3 local councillors working hard in Llandrindod Wells, we know there are plenty of opportunities across Wales to represent the people on the ground at local level.

In the words of the vice-president of the Italian Parliament’s Chamber of Deputies has called on Christian politicians to “make sacrifices” and value their conscience more than their position. In an Catholic News Agency published on 4th August, Professor Rocco Buttiglione, a member of the Vatican’s Pontifical Academy of Sciences, said that Christian people must enter politics to play an active role forming “the future of the land.”

“I think the great reservoir of values today is in the Christian people and we must tell them, you must make politics, you must enter into politics, you must make with your hands the future of the land,” said the politician and academic. Buttiglione said that people do not often want to hear the truth. It must, however, not remain alienated from politics. “We must bring truth to politics again,” he said.

All candidates will be invited to a special Rally Conference in October. Speakers will be announced soon
